Karnataka Govt oversees the ambitious STRR project aims to establish an integrated transportation like encircling the Bengaluru City. This initiative configures to joint satellite towns, alleviating traffic congestion in Central Part of Bangalore City. Since Bangalore’s urban sprawl continues, Upcoming STRR seeks to accommodate the growing population and to improve the quality of life and its balance for its residents.
Stretching across approximately 290 km, the STRR Bangalore Karnataka carefully designed road project that connects 12 satellite towns and over 330 villages surrounding Bangalore. According to the Ring Road Bangalore map, it will connect the following 12 satellite towns around the city-
– Dobbasapete
– Anekal
– Sulibele
– Attibele
– Hoskote
– Tattekere
– Devanahalli
– Ramanagara
– Doddaballapura
– Kanakapura
– Sarjapura
– Magadi
STRR Bangalore Project Highlights
On March 11, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate an 80 km section of Bengaluru Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR Bangalore Karnataka). This includes two sections connecting Dobaspete to Doddaballapur Bypass and Doddaballapur Bypass to Hoskote.Â
Moreover, the STRR Bangalore Karnataka project aims to establish a link with Hosur in Tamil Nadu, where a new airport is being planned. Once completed, this route will facilitate connectivity to the proposed Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Dobaspet and the proposed Pune-Bangalore Greenfield Expressway. In a bid for sustainable development, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is considering using segregated waste from Bangalore for the construction of the Ring Road.
